Splendor update

For some reason I haven't posted updates on Splendor for the last couple of weeks, I have no idea how I managed that but I'm about to fix it :)

After my last update it went to this

and last weekend it went to this

I've started filling in the gaps in the red and only have 3 shades left to do which I'll get done this weekend, after that I'll finish off as much of the backstitch on the rose as poss before moving onto the leaves.
As much as I'd love to see it finished this weekend I very much doubt it'll happen but it will be done next weekend

Stitch from Stash October report

I've bought a few things this month :( but I've sold off more than I've added  :)

First thing was the poppy panel kit from Heritage mentioned in my report last month, some scissors and bobbins for thread but they paid for with a voucher that my bowls team gave me for being Captain this year and so if I remember correctly they are exempt.

I've bought 2 lots of gently used charts, those are for me

I've bought 2 charts and a kit but they are gifts (the actual items) so again they are exempt

I've also bought this years ornament issue but after the bonus was announced.  I have asked if we have to use the bonus in one lump or if we can use it a bit at a time so for now I'm going to use my bonus for it.

New starts from stash = Skating penguins stocking for Teejay and an ornament for an exchange that I can't share
PHD's worked on = Halloween Moon (finished), Splendor and Ho Ho Ho
£ spent = £5.98
Budget left = £104.64  £84.64 after purchases and £20 for November
Bonus Budget left = £36.05.  As the bonus is twice the normal budget I'm just going to double up my £20 normal budget.

And of course I can't blog without a pic so here's the start of the penguin stocking

Tusal time

That's right folks it's time to post pics of our stitching rubbish once more :)

This time round I've added orts from Halloween Moon, Splendor, Ho Ho Ho and the penguin stocking I've just started for Teejay

And my beading orts.   I played about with some of the effects in the editing software and quite liked the border so might start using it all the time

Want to know more about the TUSAL and why I and many others post pictures of rubbish?  Then click on this link

Woohoo Halloween Moon finished

I finished Halloween Moon on Friday evening for Kate at Sparklies and received word today that it had arrived safely with here it is

It turned out to be a bit of a chore for me because I'm not into Halloween at all and all those straight lines on the edge got to me after a while but it's done now and Kate is happy with it

Sewing finish

Several weeks ago during a conversation over lunch with my Mother in Law we somehow ended up talking about carrier bags and said in passing that I could make her one of those holders for them.
The following week she asked me if I would make her one so as we were in town that week I took her to the sewing shop (that's it's actual name) so she could pick herself a fat quarter of fabric.

Then I sprained my knee and found it difficult to climb the stairs and/or sit with my knee bent for any length of time so it was put on hold then when I did get it made I forgot to take it to her!

I finally remembered last Friday and here it is :)

It's far from perfect but MIL is happy with it and it does what it's designed to do :)

Ladybird (bug) box finish

A few weeks back Julia Pretl had a bogof sale on her birthday and I had a bad clicky finger that day and several of them ended up in my inbox.   I was itching to do one of them and this was the only one I had all the colours for so I've been working on it on and off for the last few weeks and I finished it a few days ago.

It's the smallest one I've done so far at approx 2 1/2 inches tall and it certainly won't be the last box I do

Mr Claus

Last week at one of the monthly beading groups I go to we had a class with Oak Tree Crafts to make Mr Claus.

By the end of the day mine came home looking like this

On Monday at the other monthly beading group I go to I put the finishing touches to him after working on him on and off over the weekend

Lorraine will be back at the end of the month and we will either be doing a project that requires 2 days or 2 different projects!  We did have a project planned but a few things have come out that are new and people want to do those as well so watch this space for what happens :)

Weekend progress

Late in the week again but it's here at last :)
See that single green X on the left hand side?  Well that's the left edge of the design, I was falling asleep as I got that far but I was determined I was getting that one stitch in!

September progress & October goals

For September I said
Finish the model for Sparklies  Not done :(
Finish my weekend project Again not done :(
Pick a new weekend project  I'm thinking about what's next
Keep selling my unwanted stash  This I've done, I'm sending out at least one envelope a week
Finish something else  I finished 2 things but they were both new starts so don't really count because I meant something already started!
Make more progress on my quilt  Done, I have loads of diamonds tacked and ready to stitch together and have made a start on doing just that.

For October I'd like to
Finish the model for Sparklies
Finish my weekend project
Decide what's next at the weekend
Keep selling my unwanted stash
Make progress on my quilt
It would be nice to finish something else

I stitched for 85 hours 37 minutes in Sept, up on previous months partly due to the end of the bowling season and partly due to spraining my knee.  I had 2 new starts and I finished both of them and I stitched every day

Current PHD total = 30
