Stitch from Stash September report

I've bought a couple of things this month but I've sold far more and made a dent in the pile of stash I'd like to find new homes for.

First thing was a cone of black DMC for the bargain price of £9 it'll last me for years and save me a small fortune in the long run.
The second thing was a chart from a kit on the bay of evil (aka ebay) for some time now I've been drooling over some of the floral panels and I found the chart for the sweet peas and had the winning bid of £3.95.
I have the Sunflower one already and I'll keep looking to see if I can get the Fuschia, Daffodil and Poppy (but not the poppy one in the link, the older version) as charts on the bay of evil

New starts from stash = Bee Happy (finished) and Toledo canvas work (also finished)
PHD's worked on = Halloween Moon and Splendor Rose
£ spent = £12.95
Budget left = £90.62.  £70.62 carried forward after purchases and £20 for October

And because I don't like doing a post without a pic of I can help here's the latest progress on Halloween Moon.
It's going to be my weekly project all the time now until it's done so that I can get it back to Sparklies in time for her Dublin show

Oh and my knee is doing better, I can put weight on it now and the swelling has gone down a lot but I think I've still got a way to go before I go up the stairs normally

TUSAL Time

I'm a couple of days late with it this month but it's not the end of the world and I very much doubt it'll be the only time I am :)

I've added orts from Ho Ho Ho, Splendor, Bee Happy, Halloween Moon and Toledo since last time and there are a few bits of normal sewing cotton in there from my quilt

And my beading orts

Just in case yoo have no idea what the TUSAL is all about go here

IHSW, progress and a finish

This last weekend was IHSW and so I sat on my butt and did just that :)

My starting point

And my finishing point
You can't tell from the pic but I've also back stitched the leaves so the bottom is now complete :)

Last week I worked on Halloween Moon but not much progress was made because I didn't pick it up until Wednesday and you'll see the reason why next.
I should get loads done this week tho because I've sprained my left knee and can barely put weight on it so I'll be spending most of the week with it up although I do have to keep it moving as well which is easy enough to do really when you live alone, no one else is going to feed you or put the kettle on for a brew so I'm up about every hour anyway.

This is the reason Halloween moon wasn't picked up till Wednesday.
I took this with me in the caravan for the 3 Lancs and once again decided to finish it off.
The colours are all as charted but I did make a change.    The centre and corners were designed to have gold leather but I've never been keen on that part of the design so I did Norwich (aka Waffle) stitches instead and I'm much happier with the result

Beading finish

Mel gave me the pattern for this several years ago for Christmas and it took me until last year to get around to starting it.
Me being me I then put it aside and didn't touch it again until a month or so ago when I decided it was time to finish it

Peacock Box from Julia Pretl

I have several more box patterns to do and bought more yesterday in her Birthday BOGOF sale but I think the next one to get started will be Tetris

Last Sunday

Last Sunday was the rearranged day for the 3 Lancasters event at Lincolnshire Aviation and it was well worth the trip back there. We had a fantastic day and seeing the 3 Lancs together was an experience I won't forget.  I don't have any pics of them for you because I took video and the files are too big for blogger to let me upload them :)  but if I get any off my Parents then I'll share them.

Here are a few I did take, it was generally a dull day so most of my pics turned out dark even tho we were outside

I loved this bike.

Leo's Birdhouse

I started this back in May as a Sunday/ day off Cheshire Show entries project and once they were done it took me a few weeks to get round to finishing it but I did.

Leo's Birdhouse from Oak Tree Crafts

Closer view of the bottom half
The fat balls should have some green net over them but I couldn't get it to work so left it off

The front door

And the roof

I really enjoy this type of project and will always go for a 'thing' over a piece of jewellery and in that vein I have Mr Tom's Toadstool to do at some point in the near future also from Oak Tree :)

Last week

Last week I once again made the trip down to East Kirkby on Lincolnshire, this time it was for the 3 Lancs once in a life time event only it wasn't :(

The Canadian Lanc 'Vera' had an engine problem so couldn't fly :( which in turn meant that because they are limited on the number of hours they can fly for it was decided that 'Thumper' wouldn't fly either but we still had a fantastic day and I got to stand a few feet away from 'Just Jane' when she did her taxi runs.  I tell you now there is nothing like it and if I figure out how to get the video off my phone and on here you'll know what I mean!

The good news is that it's been rearranged and out tickets are still valid so I'm off down there again on the 14th.

Because I was going to be spending a fair bit of time in my parents caravan I took along a small kit I've had in my stash for years because it was small and on aida so easier to work on.
Once I got home I carried on and finished it :) now I have to find another one for 3 lancs part 2
