January Gifted Gorgeousness

Gifted Gorgeousness is the brain child of Jo and is a way to encourage us to use those items in our stash's that have been gifted to us.   It could be a skein of thread, piece of fabric, a chart or maybe it's something being made as a gift (shoehorns are also acceptable)

I decided that it was time I used the silks gifted to me by Daffycat several years ago for Peacock Cypher with the added bonus of always having at least one project that I would be able to use for my GG post each month.

I'm busy with models currently so it's not getting much attention but that will change at some point and I'll get to spend more than a couple of hours on it

Another travel project finished

More time sitting round at hospital appointments has meant that I've finished another small project, my 4th of the year.

This time it's from Bent Creek and it's one of their The Littles series called unsurprisingly Snowman.

He's on an oddment of aida and I used the DMC conversation for him

Weekend progress

I've made a start on the other side of the chest of drawers now.

While I have models to do with deadlines I'm only going to be working on this on a Sunday so I won't be making quite as much progress on it for a few weeks and I'm good with that after all all progress is good even if it's only a few stitches

Model finish

The model I spent most of January working on has been released so I'm now able to share.

My pic really doesn't do it justice but I struggled to get a good one it no matter where I tried to take one :(  if you follow the first link above that will take you to the page on the website for it
The fabric is gorgeous and is produced by Alessandra herself in fact I posted a pic of it when it arrived

TUSAL time

Yes folks it's that time of the month once more to post pics of our stitching rubbish.

The TUSAL is hosted by Daffycat in blogland but we also have a facebook page now as well.  The first of those links will take you to the sign up page for TUSAL and will answer any questions you may have.

I've added orts from 2 models, Abundance, Peacock Cypher, little snowman and the bears this time round

And my beading orts which don't seem to be growing even though I've been beading lots maybe it's because they are almost all white at the moment

Posy vase class

Last September I took part in a class at one of the beading groups I go to for a posy vase.

I just about got the base done during the class and had done a couple more rows done before I thought about taking a pic!
So bar those few rows this is how it looked at the end of class last year and when I picked it up again last week.

I've been working on it for the last week or so and it now look like this, I'd say I'm about half way up the shot glass

Weekend progress

I got most of the smaller gaps filled in this weekend but didn't touch the big one you can see so that's the plan for for the coming weekend

January progress & February goals

For January I said

Finish the model   Done and I can post it in a couple of days
Pick a weekend project   Done and good progress made
Have a couple of starts beside my Jan 1st one  I've had 6 in total!!
Pick a new Monday night/travel project  I'm on number 3 thanks to LOTS of sitting round the hospital waiting
Bead an ornament   Done and the pic will appear

For February I'd like to
Start the next model that has arrived
Finish the model for Sparklies
Get to the left hand edge on my weekend project
Get to the edges on Peacock Cypher
Bead an ornament

As I said above I had 6 starts in January, 3 of those have been my Monday night/travel project (aka sitting round the hospital, dentist, Docs etc) and of those 3 I've finished 2.  I also got the model for AAN finished and as today is the release date for the chart I can share the pic next time I blog.

I stitched every day in January but I have no idea how long for.   For a few years now I've been thinking about not timing my stitching but couldn't quite bring myself to do it or I'd think that it would just be odd to stop halfway through a year.   I did start the year off with a stopwatch on my lap but after a couple of weeks of not getting round to printing off a new sheet and having bits of paper with hours written down and a chance remark off a friend I thought it was time.   I have however spent most of the month counting my stitches, a group I'm in on Facebook had a snowball fight and for every 1000 stitches you did you got 5 snowballs to throw and you had to do 50 stitches for everyone you got hit with but they counted for 1000.   I managed to throw 60 snowballs so you do the maths as to how many stitches I did (roughly)

Current PHD total = 28
